This is a cost effective and Lightweight 4pc Paddle, Whilst it may be suitable as a back up for easier whitewater, its designed for Flat water use, As a whitewater back up paddle, you would be expecting to drop 1-2 grades of difiiculty below your skill level and be using it to be able to paddle to the finish - not full send mode as you would with your primary whitewater paddle. The Alloy shaft is a better suited paddle for whitewater use upto grade 3.
