Sahalie Dry Suit - Designed by IR's Female Team Paddlers

Uncompromising durability and performance .

In 1998, kayaker Shannon Carroll made a record breaking first descent of the 78' tall Sahalie Falls. Shannon's first descent claimed the world waterfall record at the time, pushing the boundaries of whitewater kayaking. This iconic event would be an inspiration for future generations of female paddlers to come.

With input from Nouria Newman, Nicole Mansfield, Anna Wagner and many others, we set out to build a high-performance, women's specific dry suit built to meet the demands of the world's top women kayakers. Using a burly nylon shell that offers superior durability and abrasion resistance, the Sahalie is expedition ready. An articulate women's specific cut reduces bulk without restricting mobility.

With a rear-entry zipper, there is no longer a zipper sitting on the back of the paddler's waist creating a more comfortable experience when seated paddling or out of your boat portaging.

Featuring a front-relief zipper, this reduces the need for excess fabric around the waist providing a more performance friendly fit for athletic female paddlers. While there are nuances associated with using a front-relief zipper, our top female athletes prefer this style of relief zipper for a few reasons.

Pro's to "Wee'ing In the Woods" with a front-relief zip.

  • With practice and the right pee funnel for you, it is faster.
  • You will stay warmer, not having to expose as much or risk losing body heat stored within your suit and layers.
  • It is more discreet.
  • It is way more fun.

Check out Jo's Blog for some confidence behind a front-relief dry suit.
