VE’s Voyager Aircore Pro Carbon Paddle on a 2 piece Carbon shaft is Light, powerful and efficient. The Voyager offers a light weight very high performance paddle with a stiffer shaft as preferred by those paddlers looking for all out performance.

This high aspect low angled sea kayak paddle is perfect for sea kayaker’s and touring paddlers who are either out all day putting in the miles or those just taking it easy.

The tip of the paddle blade has a relatively low area providing a very smooth gentle catch, the blade gets wider towards its middle allowing the power to build through the stroke once the kayaking is in motion.

Due to the blades asymetric shape and flattended off tip it also performs well when doing a high angled paddle stroke.

The Aircore provides good buoyancy and support whilst in the water but still has a press moulded edge making it extremely easy to slice through the water and incredibly robust.

VE paddles durability has been proven for many years within the white water sector this sea kayak, touring is no exception.

Supplied as a 2 piece paddle as standard, the split joint allows quick and easy adjustment of length (up to 10cm), angle and orientation whilst in the kayak without the need for tools.

Area 633cm2, Overall length 520 mm, overall width 156 mm.

Performance Blades

VE’s Aircore carbon blades give you the stiffness and buoyancy of a foam-core blade with the reliability of laminate edges for a longer-lasting, higher performance paddle.

No Foam Core

VE have developed the spine geometries of their paddles and combined with their manufacturing process that means they can use a hollow spine instead of a foam core, resulting in more reinforcing fibres in the blade and also less weight.

Due to the weight saved by this process, VE blades typically have 30% more reinforcing fibres than their competitors and they can still produce a lighter, stronger paddle.

By having a hollow core, the extra reinforcing material VE use prevents the puncturing problems that are common with foam-cored paddles.

VE have designed their paddles with structural analysis software and they have been tested and approved by some of the world’s best paddlers with outstanding feedback – VE are building super-strong blades which flex in the right places and feel great on the water.

Optimised Spine

VE Aircore carbon blades have a tapered spine which has been optimised to give an exceptionally strong blade whilst keeping the cross-sectional profile to a minimum. This gives a blade which slices through the water with ease and a geometry that looks amazing.

At VE, they’re very picky about materials.

They only use the highest quality woven and unidirectional high-strength carbon and glass fibres which come pre-impregnated with top-quality toughened epoxy resin.

Using prepreg materials is different to most other manufacturers who use a liquid epoxy resin with dry fabrics.

VE paddle’s resin is a blend of thermosetting epoxy with a thermoplastic additive which, in simple terms, means it’s tougher and more damage tolerant  than a conventional liquid epoxy.

Using a prepreg-based manufacturing method VE achieve a greater scratch resistant surface finish with no gel coat or lacquer which add weight instead of strength.

VE can also rely on their materials’ consistency, because they’ve got exact and accurate control over the fibre-to-resin ratio and where they lay the fibres. More science equals more strength and toughness!

Using VE core-less technology, VE’s glass blades have 30% more glass fibre in their construction and are still lighter than competitors. This additional glass not only makes VE glass blades a lot stronger and also a lot more durable.

The VE logos are moulded into the blades, not post applied stickers or prints. This ensures that even after years of abuse they will still be intact.

Every set of VE Paddles is made in Britain, by hand. Care is taken at each step so you can rely on VE as your connection to the water. VE paddles are made using pre-preg carbon and fibreglass materials and compression moulded construction techniques. Blades are fitted onto proprietary carbon or glass shafts; in straight, crank and split versions. All VE Paddles are assembled to a strict process, to ensure a quality finished product.
