ABS Bayonette Hatch Assembly.

Bayonette mountings are the most reliable system, unlike threaded systems they do not get clogged with sand and cross threaded, unlike the twist lock systems they do not snap off easily. These push in and turn 1/4 of a turn to lock into place.

This is an OEM quality hatch and is used by Australian Kayak manufacturers.

This includes the mount plate which you bolt or screw down, the hatch lid and if selected the bag.

Now is this a 6 inch or 8 inch hatch? People call it both.

8 inches reffers to the approximate total Diameter of the hatch - 194mm to be exact.

6 inches refers to the approximate opening inside the hatch itself - Min 145mm to be exact.

It needs a cut out in the boat of between 162mm and 196mm ideally.

The base mounting plate has an O ring seal to help keep water ingress to a minimum.

9 Countersunk Mounting Holes

The bag is approx 32 cm deep and has a rim diameter to suit recesses of 152-155mm
