The Stellar 16'(S16) Touring Kayak was an instant classic, in launching the second generation(S16 G2), we built off the success of the initial design and its decade in the market. We've added a bit of waterline beam for some additional stability and the bow was made more plumb to increase the waterline length for better efficiency and tracking. The foredeck was redesigned to include a little more height to allow for paddlers with larger feet. We also made the cutaways deeper to allow for a tighter and more efficient stroke. The cockpit rim was lowered along with the seat position which we moved to the bow allowing for easier back deck rolling. Rounding out the updates, we added a 3rd hatch on the fore deck for your phone, VHF radio or snacks.

Please note all Stellar kayaks come without the 'stripe' shown in the image - it can be special ordered is desired but does cost $100 extra.

Construction Grade Information

At Stellar, we realize that the difference between a good boat and a great boat is not only the method of the construction, but the materials used in that process. For this reason, we import premium materials from Global leaders, such as Dupont, Toray, 3M, Plexus etc. Paired with our advanced composite construction, developed from years for R&D and production, our boats are some of the lightest and stiffest on the market. As a certified ISO 9001 company, rigid procedures and quality control measures are in place to make sure that each boat meets our rigorous standards from the material itself all the way through the manufacturing process. This ensures that not only does the boat looks and feels good, but more importantly; it performs well and is durable.

Kayaks -

Each Kayak is designed to meet the rigors of the environment where it will be paddled. The double fiberglass taped deck joint ensures a durable bond for those rough days, while the large rubber hatches provide dry storage for your cargo. Each piece of hardware is fastened to the deck has a nut bonded and capped to the boat for a water-proof seal and durable connection.
